I began kayaking in 1997, the year after the
Atlanta Olympics, at the young age of 11.
What began as a summer sport turned into
a full-time, year round commitment.  After
spending my summers kayaking on Lake
Lanier, I began to train year round.  My
dedication paid off in 2003 when I was
chosen to represent the US at the Junior
World Championships in Japan achieving
international acclaim and setting my sites on
the 2008 Olympics.  Every year thereafter,
I've earned a spot on the US National Team
and get one step closer to my Olympic
dream.
The quest for an Olympic gold medal
involves many sacrifices and hardships,
training long hours on the water and in the
gym to compete against the best in the
world.  A victory in Montreal in May is all that
stands between me and my dream.

The Olympics represent the pinnacle of athletic success and the achievement
of a lifelong dream.  I thrive on the challenges that lie ahead and look forward
to conquering them.  Experience the journey with me by frequently checking
my web site where I'll post my progress towards Bejing in 2008.

In addition to training, I attend the University of California, San Diego where I
am studying Aerospace Engineering.

I am in Queensland, Australia - it's sick
and the training has been good as well. I
am staying literally right on the beach -
my balcony over looks the sand. If you
want to see what it looks like check out
Palm Beach Surf Club gold coast and the
building and view on the first page are
mine.  Training is pretty nuts but I really
like it and am learning a lot.

We have an 8 week camp that starts on
February 1, so I'll be back at the OTC in
Chula Vista.
